UK-based Granada Cranes has secured a contract to supply 72 davit crane units for the 1.1GW Inch Cape , located off the coast of Scotland. The wind farm, a joint venture between Red Rock Renewables and ESB, reached financial close last month.

Granada Cranes has previously contributed to the project, delivering a davit crane for the offshore substation in 2024. The latest contract marks a significant expansion of Granada's involvement in the project.

“We are extremely pleased to have been awarded another prestigious wind farm project,” said Saul Ashton, Technical Sales Manager for Offshore Wind at Granada Cranes. “Securing this contract has been a real team effort by the Granada Renewable product and service division.”

Ashton highlighted the broader benefits of the contract, stating, “The Inch Cape project is not only great news for Granada but also for our UK-based supply chain.”

Granada Cranes will provide two types of davit crane, designed to suit both jacket and monopile foundation types used at the offshore wind farm. The cranes will feature modern designs aimed at reducing maintenance needs and ensuring ease of operation.

The company is already preparing to place orders and subcontract specialist work to local businesses. Production of the first batch of cranes is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with deliveries continuing until the end of the year.

Granada Cranes, which has supplied over 2,500 offshore davit cranes to date, is regarded as the UK's leading supplier of offshore wind farm davit cranes.
