Interocean Marine Services has been awarded a three-year contract to provide marine vetting and assurance for the Morgan, Mona, and Morven offshore wind projects, which are being developed in a joint venture between BP and EnBW.
The three wind farms, with a combined projected generating capacity of 5.9 gigawatts (GW), are expected to contribute significantly to the UK's offshore wind target of 50GW by 2030. The projects are set to power around six million UK households annually.
The Morgan and Mona wind farms are located in the Irish Sea, approximately 22-37 kilometers from the coast, covering a total area of about 580 square kilometers. Meanwhile, the Morven project is situated in the North Sea, around 60 kilometers from Aberdeen, spanning approximately 860 square kilometers, with water depths ranging from 21 to 76 meters.
Interocean Marine Services, based in Glasgow, brings extensive experience in managing complex offshore projects, including high-value cargo transportation, mooring installation, and walk-to-work solutions.
Alex Reid, Chief Operations Officer at Interocean, expressed pride in the contract award, stating, “We are thrilled to have been chosen to contribute to projects of such national importance. As a UK-headquartered company, we take immense pride in supporting initiatives that have the potential to enhance energy security and benefit local communities.”
