Contractor Story Scotland Launches New Division for Energy Projects, Plans Expansion

Contractor Story Scotland has unveiled a new division focused on providing civil engineering solutions for energy projects across Scotland. The company has opened a new office in Perth and is planning to establish another office in Inverness within the next 12 to 18 months.

The new division is expected to bring £30 million of civil engineering capacity to the energy market, and Story Scotland is already involved in a variety of projects, including battery systems (BESS), pumped hydro, ground-mounted solar PV, , and hydro maintenance.

The company also outlined plans to expand its energy division, which currently has a 30-person workforce, by adding 100 new jobs over the next five years.

Alan Boyle, the newly appointed head of the division, emphasized Story Scotland's commitment to supporting Scotland's net-zero goals. “Story Scotland has a well-earned reputation as the ‘transportation contractor of choice' in Scotland. I intend to build on this by leveraging the strength of the Story brand and our capabilities to help support Scotland reach its net-zero ambitions,” Boyle said. “Our investment in this sector is over a 10+ year horizon, and we are in this for the long haul.”

He added, “By taking a collaborative, customer-first approach and empowering our team to be the best they can be, I believe we can make this vision a reality.
