The New York State Energy and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has allocated $1.2 million in to support four projects focused on innovative clean electrolyser designs. The funding is part of the state's broader efforts to advance clean energy technologies.

NYSERDA President and CEO Doreen M. Harris expressed the organization's commitment to supporting the clean hydrogen sector. “NYSERDA is proud to support these federally supported clean hydrogen projects that show promise in advancing technology that can ensure reliability in bringing clean energy to the grid,” Harris said. “At the same time, clean hydrogen has the potential to be a game-changer for reducing emissions and pollution from energy-intensive industrial processes and transportation.”

The awarded projects are located in Peekskill, Ithaca, Cohoes, and Troy. The largest single award, totaling $720,000, was granted to Ecolectro Inc. in Ithaca. These projects aim to develop more efficient and cost-effective hydrogen production methods, which could play a significant role in New York's clean energy transition.
