Corio Generation has announced that Jonathan Cole will step down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective 31 January 2025. Samuel Leupold, who has served as Chair of the Board since Corio's inception, will succeed Cole as CEO starting from the end of the month.
Leupold brings over 25 years of experience in the industry, having previously served as CEO of Orsted Wind Power. He has also held roles at ABB and McKinsey & Company, focusing on utilities and industrials.
Mark Dooley, who will replace Leupold as Chair of the Board, acknowledged Cole's leadership in the company's early development. “Since the launch of Corio in April 2022, Jonathan Cole has led the creation of a world-class offshore wind business,” Dooley said. “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Jonathan for his commitment and drive in taking Corio to this stage in its development.
Leupold, reflecting on the company's progress, stated, “Having been part of Corio's journey since its inception, I have seen first-hand how the company has coupled impressive growth with the development of a world-class team under Jonathan's leadership. I am excited to build on these foundations and to take the company through its next phase of development and project execution.
Cole, who has led Corio since its launch, expressed pride in the company's achievements. “It has been a great privilege to lead Corio since its launch, and I am very proud of the team and culture that we have created and the many successes that we enjoyed together over the past three years,” Cole said. “I am excited to see how the company continues to progress under Samuel's leadership.
