Axpo Nordic has signed a long-term corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) with Finnish renewable energy producer Exilion Tuuli Ky. The agreement, set to begin in 2025, will see Axpo purchase 70GWh of renewable electricity annually from the Exilion-owned Ii Isokangas wind park in northern Finland. The deal spans 12 years and will supply clean energy to meet the needs of consumer products company Colgate-Palmolive.
The Ii Isokangas wind farm, located in the municipality of Ii, consists of five turbines with a combined capacity of 22.1MW. Axpo will sell the electricity generated by the wind park to Colgate-Palmolive, helping the company meet its renewable energy goals.
Lauri Konsén, originator at Axpo Nordic, stated: “Axpo is delighted to be co-operating with one of the biggest renewable energy producers in Finland. This agreement demonstrates Axpo's ability to provide innovative clean energy solutions tailored to the needs of our clients.
Exilion investment manager Tommi Riski added, “We are happy to support the sustainability of Colgate-Palmolive's operations with Finnish wind energy. Axpo makes it possible to sell electricity with a long-term contract that enables a predictable cash flow for the institutional investors of Exilion Tuuli.
The PPA marks the first such agreement between Axpo Nordic and Exilion Tuuli Ky, further strengthening their collaboration in advancing renewable energy solutions.
