The Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult has named Steve Foxley as its new chief executive, following a thorough selection process by its board. Foxley, currently CEO of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) in Sheffield, is set to assume his new role in early 2025. He succeeds Andrew Jamieson, who retired after leading the organization for over a decade.
Foxley brings extensive expertise in innovation and growth from his time at AMRC and his involvement with the Innovate UK Catapult Network. ORE Catapult Chair Ronnie Bonnar highlighted Foxley's national and international experience as key to supporting the offshore renewable energy sector's scale-up efforts to achieve the UK's Net Zero ambitions.
Foxley expressed enthusiasm for the offshore wind sector's transformative potential, emphasizing its ability to revitalize communities, deliver clean energy, and drive industrial innovation.
Stella Peace, Interim Executive Chair at Innovate UK, noted that Foxley's leadership at AMRC showcased the strength of the Catapult Network in fostering UK growth and job creation. His appointment is expected to bolster ORE Catapult's role in advancing offshore wind technologies and supporting the country's clean energy goals.
