has secured a (PPA) with the Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) for its 150-MW Bee Hollow photovoltaic (PV) project in St. Clair County, Illinois.

The project, which is set to begin construction next year, will expand National Grid's operating solar portfolio in Illinois to 350 MW. This addition follows the completion of the 200-MW Prairie Wolf solar park, which has been operational since 2021.

The Bee Hollow solar project will contribute to IMEA's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions in the power supply for its member municipalities by 2050.

The agreement aligns with IMEA's Sustainability Plan, supporting the agency's strategy to reduce emissions while ensuring a cleaner energy future.

National Grid Renewables, which has nearly 2,000 MW of solar assets across the U.S., expects the Bee Hollow project to generate a direct economic impact of USD 34 million over the first 20 years of operation.
