TotalEnergies Starts Fabrication for Culzean Floating Wind Pilot

Fabrication has started on the foundation for ' Culzean pilot project, marking a significant step in integrating into oil and gas operations.

The foundation, which will support a 3 MW turbine, is being developed by Archer Wind, with the initial plate cutting now complete.

The project, situated 222 km east of in the Central North Sea, is designed to explore the feasibility of using wind power to supply renewable energy to the Culzean oil and gas platform.

A single floating wind turbine will be constructed and connected to the platform via a 2 km export cable, without links to shore.

This pilot initiative demonstrates TotalEnergies' commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of its operations by incorporating renewable energy solutions into traditional energy infrastructure.
