Innagreen and Cowessess First Nation have officially inaugurated the 200MW Bekevar wind farm in Saskatchewan, a milestone project highlighting collaboration between commercial energy firms and Indigenous communities. Situated across Hazlewood, Kingsley, and Cowessess reserve lands, Bekevar features 36 N155/5.X turbines. Its output is contracted to SaskPower under a 25-year , providing electricity for approximately 100,000 homes in the province.

Canada's federal government contributed $50 million to the project, emphasizing its alignment with national goals for clean energy and job creation.

Canadian Energy Minister Jonathan Wilkinson praised Bekevar for its role in advancing decarbonization while fostering economic opportunities in Saskatchewan. Cowessess First Nation Chief Erica Beaudin underscored the importance of Indigenous leadership in the clean energy transition.
