Lithuania Relaunches 700-MW Offshore Wind Tender in Baltic Sea

's National Energy Regulatory Council (VERT) has reopened its to award 700 MW of wind capacity in the after the initial round failed to attract sufficient proposals. The revised tender includes updated conditions to stimulate greater interest.

Bidders have until March 18, 2025, to submit their documentation, with the selection of qualified participants scheduled for April 29. The winner is expected to be announced on May 2, and contracts are projected to be finalized in June.

The tender sets a maximum bid price of EUR 125.74 per MWh and a minimum of EUR 75.45 per MWh. Lithuanian utility , which secured the country's first offshore wind tender earlier this year, has confirmed its intention to participate in this second round.

The relaunch underscores Lithuania's commitment to developing offshore wind as a key component of its renewable energy strategy and its broader push toward energy independence and sustainability in the Baltic region.
