Vestas has secured a 50 MW wind turbine order in South Korea from an undisclosed client, marking another step in its expanding portfolio in the region.
The project will feature eight V162-6.2 MW turbines under a 20-year AOM5000 service agreement to ensure reliable operations. Delivery is slated for the second quarter of 2025, with commissioning expected in the first half of 2026.
This follows Vestas' earlier success in June, when it secured a 90 MW order for 21 V136-4.2 MW turbines operating in 4.3 MW mode, also scheduled for delivery in mid-2025 and commissioning in 2026.
In October 2023, Vestas further reinforced its commitment to South Korea by opening a new office in Seoul, consolidating its Asia-Pacific headquarters.
The company emphasized the growing role of offshore wind in South Korea's energy transition, with wind energy expected to play a pivotal part in addressing climate change and strengthening the country's energy security.
