President Prabowo Affirms Indonesia’s Commitment to Green Energy Transition

Indonesian President reaffirmed 's support for global efforts to address climate change and accelerate the transition to . This statement was made following a bilateral meeting with Secretary-General António Guterres in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday (17/11).

“Indonesia fully supports efforts to reduce carbon emissions. We have a plan and the capability to truly transition to renewable energy,” President Prabowo said.

The President highlighted Indonesia's significant potential in green energy, including geothermal, hydro, power, and bioenergy. He also expressed appreciation for the support from the UN Secretary-General for the steps Indonesia has taken.

“Indonesia is now seen as quite important, and he hopes Indonesia will continue to take a proactive stance,” President Prabowo added.

The meeting further solidified Indonesia's role as a strategic partner on the international stage, particularly in addressing climate change and energy policy.

“We aim to achieve net zero emissions. We are heading in that direction,” President Prabowo emphasized, reinforcing Indonesia's commitment to sustainable global development.
