Gael Energy Partners with Rengineers to Target UK Onshore Wind O&M Market

Gael Energy, a Scottish wind energy operations and maintenance (O&M) specialist, has teamed up with Rengineers, a -based company, to target the UK onshore wind O&M market. The strategic alliance aims to roll out Rengineers' Garant maintenance contract, an insurance-backed service that covers all possible costs associated with wind turbine maintenance for wind farm operators across the country.

According to , the Managing Director of Gael Energy, this partnership with Rengineers will improve the service they deliver and expand the scope of their multi-brand capabilities with a highly desirable contract and service. “With long term service and support contracts on many of the current generation of wind turbines coming to an end, it's a market that has huge potential for us,” he added. “We have already signed contracts with two new clients in the first week of the Rengineers agreement.”

The Garant contract ensures that wind farm operators are compensated in full beyond a 48-hour shutdown period for loss of earnings, and all costs associated with wind turbine maintenance are covered by an annual fixed fee. Gael Energy will initially support the rollout of the Garant contract in from its three nationwide service bases located in Aberdeenshire, Dumfries, and Evanton.

Gael Energy maintains over 400 wind turbines nationwide, and it has a number of large Scottish landowners among its client list. In 2022, the company moved into a 3500 sq ft facility near Invergordon on the . The agreement with Rengineers is expected to create up to 15 new jobs at Gael Energy in the coming months, including experienced engineers and apprentices.

Campbell announced that Gael Energy will officially launch its partnership with Rengineers at the Royal Highland Show, Scotland's largest agricultural show, at Ingliston in in June. “This exciting new relationship with this likeminded and well-respected company allows us to provide an even better service to our clients and position ourselves for future growth,” he said. “We are confident that this partnership will benefit the UK's onshore wind O&M market and we are excited to be part of it.”
