EDP Expands Solar Portfolio with Acquisition of 44.3 MWp in Brazil

EDP – Energias de SA has acquired 44.3 MWp of distributed generation parks in from Grupo Tangipar in a deal worth BRL 218 million (USD 37.5 million / EUR 35 million).

The includes 16 solar assets spread across the states of , Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Parana.

Of these, five solar parks are already operational, while the remaining 11 are under construction, with completion scheduled for 2025. These projects will provide power to low-voltage customers.

This move brings EDP closer to its goal of reaching 500 MWp of installed capacity in Brazil by 2026. The company currently has 258 MWp in total. The deal is still pending approval from Brazil's antitrust regulator, CADE.
