R.Power SA Issues USD 133 Million in Green Bonds to Fund Solar and Energy Storage Projects

Polish developer R.Power SA announced on Tuesday the issuance of PLN 530 million (USD 133 million, EUR 122 million) in green bonds, marking its largest transaction of this kind to date.

The proceeds from the five-year bonds will primarily be utilized to refinance PLN 450 million in existing bonds while also the development of new (PV) and battery system (BESS) projects. Currently, R.Power is advancing a portfolio that exceeds 26 GWp of PV and BESS assets across multiple countries, including , Romania, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Germany.

“Despite market challenges and a record number of competing issuances, we successfully conducted our largest bond issuance to date,” said Tomasz Sek, member of the management board and co-founder of R.Power.

This bond issuance also includes support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), further underscoring the project's significance in the renewable energy sector.
