Ingrid Capacity has initiated the design phase for a 100-MW/200-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Sweden, set to connect to E.on SE's regional grid in Horsaryd, Karlshamn municipality.
This project is positioned as the largest BESS facility in the Nordics and represents Ingrid Capacity's first two-hour system.
The collaboration between Ingrid Capacity and E.on SE commenced in 2022, with construction anticipated to start in 2026 and commissioning planned for 2027.
The Karlshamn site will be Ingrid Capacity's third project in Blekinge County, following a 16-MW/16-MWh storage facility in Karlskrona and a 3-MW/3-MWh battery in Karlshamn.
The company, which specializes in energy storage solutions, aims to have nearly 30 projects operational across Sweden by 2025, with a broader objective of managing 8 GW by 2030.
Recently, Ingrid Capacity inaugurated a portfolio of 14 BESS sites across Sweden, boasting a combined capacity of 211 MW/211 MWh.
