US renewables developer and operator Swift Current Energy has obtained tax equity financing from PNC Bank for its Harvest Gold solar project, which has a capacity of 99 MWac (138 MWdc) and is located in Sunflower County, Mississippi.
The solar farm commenced commercial operation this summer and is capable of generating enough electricity to power more than 23,000 households annually.
In alignment with its 2040 net-zero emissions goal, US retailer Target Corp has committed to purchasing all electricity and renewable energy credits produced by the Harvest Gold project.
The solar farm utilizes American-made First Solar Series 7 modules, with Moss serving as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor.
Swift Current Energy is the long-term owner and operator of the Harvest Gold project, marking its first venture in Mississippi. The company anticipates owning and operating over 1 GW of renewable energy capacity by the end of the year.
