London-based solar firm AMPYR Solar Europe has announced the financial closing of a 96-MWp solar project in the Netherlands, with plans to bring the plant online by June 2025.
The NOP solar plant will be located in Noordoostpolder, within the Dutch province of Flevoland, and is expected to generate enough power to supply approximately 30,000 homes while offsetting 36,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
Funding for the project will be sourced from AMPYR's EUR 200 million (USD 215.5 million) omnibus multi-project financing facility provided by Rabobank. The photovoltaic (PV) complex will span 65 hectares of natural grassland and consist of four separate plants operating as a single renewable energy site.
With the addition of this project, AMPYR's total renewables capacity in the Netherlands will exceed 130 MWp, complementing two existing solar plant clusters already in operation.
The company focuses on developing and building solar plants across Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK, with a pipeline of approximately 1.5 GWp of projects in the Netherlands.
