Germany-based KGAL Investment Management announced on Thursday the acquisition of a 17.1-MW wind park currently under construction near Perscheid in western Germany.
The seller of the project is BayWa r.e. AG, a German renewables company.
The wind farm will feature three Nordex wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5.7 MW. It is expected to become operational in the spring of 2025, generating approximately 48,000 MWh of green electricity annually, sufficient to meet the needs of about 16,000 households. The project benefits from a feed-in tariff that guarantees stable income for 20 years.
This acquisition represents KGAL's first investment on behalf of the Software AG Foundation (SAGST) under an individual mandate.
The independent development foundation has engaged KGAL to assist in expanding its portfolio of direct investments in renewable energy projects.
