Switzerland-based energy storage specialist Energy Vault Holdings Inc. has been selected by Enervest Group to construct a 1-GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at the Stoney Creek site in New South Wales, Australia.
The AUD 350-million (USD 234.8 million/EUR 216.5 million) agreement marks a significant step as both companies finalize development and grid application approvals to advance toward a full final investment decision (FID).
Under this contract, Energy Vault will serve as a turn-key engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning contractor, as well as the system integrator for the project. The company will also provide long-term services, software, and maintenance support throughout the facility's operational life.
The Stoney Creek BESS will utilize Energy Vault's X-Vault integration platform, featuring the UL9540 and AS3000 certified B-VAULT product and the Vault-OS Energy Management System.
This new energy storage capacity aligns with Enervest's strategy to enhance grid reliability and accommodate the increasing renewable energy capacity in New South Wales.
