Masdar, the UAE-based renewable energy company, is aiming to increase its wind and solar capacity to 100GW by the end of the decade. According to chief executive Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, the company will focus on expanding in key markets including the Middle East, Europe, and the US.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Al Ramahi outlined the company's geographic distribution targets, noting that by 2030, about 30-35% of Masdar's power capacity will be in the Middle East, 20% in Europe, 20-25% in the US, with additional projects in Asia.
Al Ramahi emphasized the group's goal of maintaining an equal balance between solar and wind power projects and highlighted the importance of investing in markets that are open to foreign investment.
He stated, “When I look at my growth and my target, if I want to achieve 100GW, I cannot ignore Europe and I cannot ignore the US.”
