Hithium Partners with MANAT to Establish Battery Production in Saudi Arabia

Chinese stationary manufacturer Energy Storage Technology Co Ltd has announced a joint venture with Nabilah AlTunisi, founder-owner of MANAT, to produce battery energy storage systems (BESS) in .

The new partnership, named Hithium MANAT, aims to set up a factory with an annual production capacity of 5 GWh.

The announcement was made at the and Storage Live KSA event, where Hithium also showcased energy storage products designed for desert environments, including advanced sandstorm protection tailored for the demands of the and Africa (MEA) region.

Sean Sun, general manager of Hithium's MEA operations, emphasized the strategic significance of this investment. “By investing in a local factory, the company is expanding its global footprint and contributing to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030,” Sun stated.

He added that the partnership reflects Hithium's commitment to fostering strong local relationships and supporting the region's long-term development goals.
