Siemens Gamesa Secures Agreement for 15 MW Turbines in Equinor’s Bandibuli Floating Wind Farm

has entered into a deal to supply 15 megawatt (MW) turbines for Equinor's 750 MW Bandibuli (Firefly) floating wind farm off the coast of . The company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Equinor and to advance the project.

The signing ceremony took place at Doosan Enerbility's headquarters in Changwon, with key executives in attendance, including Seungwoo Sohn, Chief Executive of Doosan Enerbility's Power Services Business Group; , Chief Executive of Siemens Gamesa's offshore business; and Ingunn Svegården, Senior Vice President of Equinor Renewables APAC.

Under the terms of the MoU, the three companies will collaborate on the development project located off the coast of Ulsan, South . Upon finalization, Siemens Gamesa will deploy its 15 MW turbine technology, while Doosan Enerbility will assemble the nacelles for the turbines at its facility in Changwon.

Sohn highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “The partnership between Doosan and Siemens Gamesa is recognized as being a most realistic and optimal cooperation model that will help expedite the expansion of the Korean domestic wind market.” He added, “With the signing of this MoU, we will be able to further solidify the partnership between the three companies and by continuously engaging in collaborations, we expect to contribute to the promotion of Korea's offshore wind power ecosystem.”
