CNOOD Wenchong Heavy Industries (CWHI) has recently announced that it has made a final investment decision to build an impressive facility for manufacturing XXXL monopiles at Qinzhou Port, located in the southern region of Guangxi, China. This new site boasts an impressive annual production capacity of 144 XXXL monopiles, which have a maximum diameter of 15 meters and a maximum weight of 4500 tonnes. In order to deliver these monopiles, the facility will utilize eight offshore wind power XXXL monopile foundation production lines.
This facility is currently undergoing Phase 2 construction, which is expected to be completed by December of this year. Once this phase is completed, the facility will be able to operate at its full annual production capacity. The construction of this facility represents a major milestone for the company and is expected to significantly boost its production capacity.
The new site also includes several noteworthy features, such as a quayside that is 307 meters long and 12 meters deep, which can accommodate vessels weighing up to and including 100,000 tonnes. Additionally, the facility has an 86,000 square meter storage area with a load-bearing capacity of 20 tonnes per square meter, making it an ideal location for storing and transporting heavy equipment.
This development is expected to play a crucial role in supporting the rapidly expanding offshore wind power industry in China. With its impressive production capacity and state-of-the-art facilities, this new site is poised to become a major player in the offshore wind power industry, both in China and around the world.
