AB has signed a Transmission Service Agreement (TSA) with Korea Power Corporation (KEPCO) for its 1,125-MW MunmuBaram project, located 60 km off the coast of Ulsan, South Korea. This agreement will enable the supply of electricity to the national grid once the is commissioned.

The MunmuBaram project, expected to be one of the largest floating offshore wind farms globally, represents a significant step toward South Korea's neutrality goals. The TSA, signed during an official ceremony with other developers from the Ulsan Floating Offshore Wind Association, ensures grid connectivity for 6 GW of clean power.

“The signing of the TSA with KEPCO is a significant achievement for MunmuBaram, as it marks one of the most important milestones during the development phase. Hexicon remains committed to delivering clean energy to South Korea and its people,” said Marcus Thor, Hexicon's chief executive.

The project team is collaborating with other developers on the construction of grid connection facilities to transfer clean energy from the offshore wind farms to the mainland, ensuring a stable and reliable power supply. The grid connection is expected to be operational by March 2029.

Once completed, the MunmuBaram floating wind farm will play a pivotal role in South Korea's efforts to achieve carbon neutrality and contribute to a sustainable energy future.
