UK-based flexible energy infrastructure developer has submitted a planning application for a 500-MW green facility in Kintore, , with the potential to expand its capacity to 3,000 MW.

The project aims to enhance the UK's electricity system and facilitate the integration of additional sources by utilizing surplus wind power for the electrolysis process.

Statera emphasized the project's significance in decarbonizing the UK's carbon-intensive sectors, with the initial 500 MW of green hydrogen production expected to commence operations by 2028.

Once fully operational, the facility could help reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by up to 1.4 million tonnes annually.

The construction phase is projected to create approximately 3,500 job opportunities. Statera Energy is already active in the UK, with over 1 GW of projects either in operation or under construction, and an additional 16 GW in various stages of development or consent.

Recently, in August, the company received a planning permit for a 400-MW battery system in Dorset, England.
