USA, a subsidiary of 's Group, has sold a 142-MW solar project in state to (PSE), the region's largest utility.

The Appaloosa photovoltaic (PV) farm will be built in Garfield County, adjacent to PSE's Lower Snake River wind farm, utilizing existing interconnection infrastructure.

While the value of the transaction was not disclosed, Qcells USA will remain involved as the project's engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, and will supply U.S.-made PV panels for the installation.

Once operational, the solar farm is expected to generate enough electricity to power over 30,000 homes annually.

The project is part of PSE's strategy to diversify its energy mix and align with Washington's Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA) goals, which mandate 100% clean energy by 2045.

Construction of the Appaloosa project is set to begin in 2025, with commercial operations expected by December 2026.
