Detroit-based energy company DTE Energy has commenced construction on three new solar projects in Michigan over the past four months, including the 158-MW Mission Road solar park, for which a groundbreaking ceremony was held on Thursday.
In addition to Mission Road, the new projects include Fish Creek and Little Trout, with the first two located in mid-Michigan and Little Trout in the northern part of the state.
All three projects are funded by customers who voluntarily participated in DTE's CleanVision MIGreenPower program, according to a press release.
Alongside these developments, three additional solar parks funded through MIGreenPower are currently under construction. Collectively, these six projects are expected to contribute 800 MW of clean power generating capacity.
DTE Energy operates a diverse portfolio of wind and solar assets capable of meeting the energy needs of over 750,000 homes.
The company aims to supply approximately 5.5 million households by 2042, with plans to add more than 2,400 MW of new wind and solar energy in the coming years.
