British commercial rooftop solar developer Solarel LLP announced on Wednesday a new solar-as-a-service partnership with Avrenim to deliver turnkey on-site commercial photovoltaic (PV) projects across the UK.
Under the agreement, Solarel will provide funding, contracting, monitoring, and management services, while Avrenim will oversee design, engineering, installation, and maintenance. Solarel plans to utilize its solar monitoring and maintenance platform to enhance customer engagement.
As of this month, Solarel has secured GBP 16 million (approximately USD 21.4 million/EUR 19.2 million) in commitments from institutional investors to invest in UK rooftop solar initiatives. The company typically engages in power purchase agreements (PPAs) with clients, leasing roof space to install solar arrays and covering construction and operational costs. Project sizes can range from 30 kW to several megawatts.
