GE Vernova Secures 177 MW Wind Turbine Orders for Five Projects in Spain

US energy equipment manufacturer Inc has announced the acquisition of orders totaling approximately 177 MW to supply its 6.1 MW–158m onshore wind turbines for five projects across . These orders were placed during the second quarter by three different customers.

Spanish renewables developer Erbi has selected GE Vernova to supply 16 turbines for its Casa Vieja and Pedrejones wind farm projects in the Castile and Leon region. Each site will feature eight of the 6.1-MW turbines, with deliveries scheduled to commence at the end of 2024. This contract includes both supply and commissioning services.

Additionally, GE Vernova will repower the Les Colladetes wind farm in Catalonia for Enervent, involving the installation of six turbines for repowering, as well as two additional units of the same model.

Lastly, Portuguese company – Energias Renovaveis SA has contracted GE Vernova to supply, install, and commission five turbines for its Barranco del Agua project in Andalusia.

Gilan Sabatier, Chief Commercial Officer for GE Vernova's Onshore Wind business in International Markets, highlighted the company's robust presence in Spain, where it already operates over 4.3 GW of wind capacity and has established an engineering center of excellence in Barcelona along with two blade production factories.
