, formerly known as Banks Renewables, has officially inaugurated the 15-turbine extension of its Kype Muir wind farm in , enhancing the complex's power generation capacity to over 155 MW. The expanded facility, now comprising a total of 41 turbines, is projected to generate enough to supply around 123,000 homes annually.

The 67.2-MW Kype Muir Extension was unveiled during a ceremony attended by local community members and government officials. The installation was carried out by Scottish engineering contractor RJ McLeod. The first turbine of the extension was erected and connected to the grid in the summer of 2022.

The wind farm features a diverse array of turbine heights, including four 156-metre units, three 176-metre turbines, and eight 200-metre machines. Notably, the installation was completed without state subsidies, and the operation will be governed by a 15-year fixed (PPA).

OnPath Energy estimates that the Kype Muir project and its extension will provide over GBP 21 million (USD 28 million/EUR 25 million) in community benefits throughout their operational lifespan.

In a significant investment move, renewable fund Greencoat UK Wind Plc acquired a 49.9% stake in the expansion project by the end of 2023.
