Green Switch Capital Secures Approval for 50 MW Solar Project in Essex

Green Switch Capital, a subsidiary of French independent power producer Qair, has received planning permission for a project in Essex, southeast , with a proposed capacity of 50 MW.

The North Rochford District Council granted approval for the Lark Hill Solar Farm scheme, as announced by Green Switch in a recent LinkedIn post.

The photovoltaic (PV) park will be developed across a 66-hectare (163-acre) site and is projected to generate enough to power approximately 20,970 British homes annually, while also reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by around 27,950 tonnes.

However, specific details regarding the construction and commissioning timeline were not provided in the statement.

Green Switch, based in , became part of Qair following the French company's of a “significant majority share” in the developer of onshore wind, solar, and energy storage projects. This deal, completed in August, grants Qair access to Green Switch's extensive project pipeline, which exceeds 15 GW.
