EnBW has issued a tender for a helicopter service provider to support operations at its offshore wind farms in the German North Sea and Baltic Sea. The contract will cover offshore-onshore personnel transport, with potential cargo transport, including dangerous goods, under specific circumstances.
EnBW operates the Hohe See and Albatros offshore wind farms in the North Sea, with the 960 MW He Dreiht project expected to be operational by early 2026. The He Dreiht site is located near the existing Hohe See Wind Park. Additionally, the company manages two offshore wind farms, Baltic 1 and 2, in the Baltic Sea.
The selected provider must supply a helicopter approved for operation within German and Dutch airspace, meeting statutory requirements for offshore activities. The contract does not include a permanent helicopter charter, instead, a framework agreement is planned, starting 1 April 2025 and running until 31 March 2032.
The helicopter will be required to service various offshore platforms and vessels, including the Hohe See OSS helicopter landing deck and nearby wind farms such as BARD Offshore 1, Global Tech I, and converter stations like BorWin Gamma and BorWin Beta. It must also be equipped for helicopter hoist operations (HHO), allowing personnel and material transfers to and from wind turbines, vessels, and platforms.
