Madrid-based offshore wind developer BlueFloat Energy and Chinese offshore wind fabricator Dajin Heavy Industry have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the supply chain for floating offshore wind.
The agreement, announced on Thursday, marks the beginning of a partnership aimed at enhancing the fabrication and deployment processes for floating wind foundations.
The collaboration will focus on identifying the most competitive floating foundation designs while exploring new technologies to improve performance and cost-efficiency. The companies plan to streamline the fabrication and deployment of floating wind foundations as part of their joint efforts to advance the sector.
“By combining BlueFloat Energy's expertise in offshore wind development with Dajin's extensive experience in the fabrication and construction of steel structure products for the offshore wind industry, we are well positioned to make significant strides in decarbonising the energy sector and creating a robust, sustainable supply chain,” said BlueFloat CEO Carlos Martin.
According to the announcement, this MoU is the first in a series of upcoming agreements for BlueFloat Energy, which aims to partner with key supply chain players across various markets.
