Enercon Signs Supply Contract with Enerjisa Uretim for New 6MW Turbine

Enercon has signed a supply contract with Turkish energy producer Enerjisa Uretim for its new 6MW turbine, the E-175 EP5 model. This turbine will be utilized at the Bandirma Energy Base in Balikesir province, with installation planned for mid-2025 and commissioning expected in the fourth quarter of the same year.

The E-175 EP5 prototype is currently being installed in North Rhine-Westphalia, , while series production is being prepared at Enercon's factories. Enercon's chief commercial officer, Uli Schulze Sudhoff, highlighted the strong interest in the new model from international customers, noting that the 2025 production volume has already been sold. “We are seeing a great deal of interest in our new top model from our international customers,” Sudhoff said. “We are also in concrete negotiations with customers for numerous projects for the next 24 months – and there are also further enquiries, including from more and more international customers.”

Arif Gunyar, Regional Head of Enercon's Central , , and (CAMEA) region, emphasized the importance of this contract for Enercon's relationship with the Turkish market. “The supply contract with Enerjisa Üretim should be the beginning for us,” Gunyar stated. “We have a close relationship with the Turkish market. We have been contributing to the Turkish energy transition for more than 25 years. It is therefore important to us to work with our Turkish partners to drive forward the expansion and the energy transition in Türkiye with our new generation of turbines.”

This contract marks Enercon's first international project for the E-175 EP5 model and is expected to significantly contribute to Turkey's ongoing energy transition efforts.
