EDP Renovaveis SA announced on Wednesday the completion of the sale of a 191-MW wind portfolio in Italy to a subsidiary of the renewables group PLT Energia.
Under the agreement with PLT Rew 2 Srl, EDPR sold the wind assets for an enterprise value of around EUR 400 million (USD 437.3 million).
The portfolio, located in southern Italy, consists of seven wind farms that have been operational for an average of 1.4 years. EDPR noted that five of the plants benefit from a regulated tariff (CfD), while the remaining two operate under a power purchase agreement (PPA).
“With this transaction, we have executed more than 15% of our roughly EUR 6-billion asset rotation programme for the period 2024-2026,” EDPR stated.
This sale marks a significant step in EDPR's strategy to optimize its portfolio and fund new growth opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
