Aslan Energy Capital Plans Major Solar-Powered Green Hydrogen Project in Mexico

announced on Monday its selection of terrain in for a significant project aimed at constructing a large-scale -powered facility for and green production. The project, known as Aslan Net-zero Energy Mexico (ANEM), has secured a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the acquisition of 35,000 hectares of coastal land in Sonora.

Scheduled to unfold in four phases over a decade, ANEM is projected to commence commercial operations in 2028. At its inception, the facility aims to produce nearly 600,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually, with plans to double capacity by 2030.

Preliminary feasibility studies have been finalized, paving the way for the commencement of front-end engineering design (FEED) activities anticipated to begin in the third quarter of 2024.

As highlighted in their statement, Aslan Energy intends to establish a localized supply chain hub in Sonora, fostering collaboration with strategic solar equipment manufacturers and hydrogen technology firms. The primary focus will be on serving the domestic market, with provisions made for potential exports to the United States and other global destinations.
