French renewable electricity producer UNITe Group has finalized debt financing amounting to EUR 27 million (USD 29.1 million) for the construction of a 29-MW solar park in the Loiret department of north-central France.
The funding, provided by BPCE Energeco and Banque Populaire Val de France, subsidiaries of French lender BPCE, features a 23-year maturity period, as stated in a release on Tuesday.
The solar park, slated to be built within a pheasant farm in the commune of Loury, will incorporate shaded areas designed for the benefit of the birds.
Construction has already begun, with plans to commence operation of the photovoltaic (PV) arrays by August 2025. Once operational, the plant is projected to generate approximately 32 GWh annually, sufficient to meet the electricity needs of over 14,000 individuals.
