German Authorities Approve Expansion of Wind Farm in Tüttendorf

Local authorities in Tüttendorf, Schleswig-Holstein, , have granted approval for and to expand and repower a wind farm, increasing its capacity from 12.5MW to 49.6MW. The project will involve installing eight Vestas V162-6.2MW turbines at a height of 200 meters.

Johannes Thon, Managing Director of European Energy Deutschland, highlighted the community involvement in the project, stating, “The community energy company BWP Tüttendorf Projekt GmbH & Co. KG will become co-owner of the new turbines. This will give citizens a direct stake in the wind farm and promote regional value creation.”

Sören Lang, Head of Project Management in Schleswig-Holstein at Energiequelle, emphasized the benefits of repowering, noting, “Repowering the wind turbines will make them more efficient and more powerful. The amount of electricity generated will be multiplied.
