Swiss investment fund MW Storage AG and a unit of Fluence Energy Inc have announced a joint venture for a 20-MW/20-MWh battery energy storage project (BESS) in Mantsala, Finland.
This collaboration marks their third partnership in the Scandinavian country, focusing on enhancing grid stability and lowering electricity costs through active participation in energy trading.
Located in the southern municipality of Mantsala in the Uusimaa region, the battery system aims to add flexibility to the grid, providing essential stability enhancements.
The Mantsala project represents Fluence's fifth endeavor with MW Storage and its third BESS initiative in Finland alone. The partnership extends beyond Finland, encompassing joint projects in Germany and Switzerland.
Fluence Energy, which operates across 47 markets globally, has established a significant presence in the Nordic region with seven projects either deployed or under contract to date.
