TotalEnergies SE, in collaboration with Spanish solar technology firm Soltec Power Holdings SA, has inaugurated a nearly 5 MW solar farm named La Isla in the Murcia region of southeastern Spain. This project marks their second joint venture in the area.
La Isla is expected to produce over 10 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity annually, utilizing more than 7,600 solar panels and 87 SFOne trackers manufactured by Soltec. The site spans approximately 9 hectares (22.2 acres) of disused land in Cartagena municipality.
TotalEnergies and Soltec have previously launched another solar farm, La Asomada, in Cartagena, which has been operational since 2022. Currently, the partners have a combined pipeline of 412 MW of solar energy projects under development and construction in Murcia.
The region is recognized as one of Spain's top producers of solar energy, underscoring its strategic role in advancing renewable energy initiatives nationwide.
