Spanish civil engineering and construction firm Obrascon Huarte Lain SA has been awarded contracts to construct two solar farms in Spain with a combined capacity of 144 MW. The contracts, announced on Thursday, are valued at over EUR 60 million (USD 64.3 million).
One of the projects will see OHLA build a 54-MW solar plant in Extremadura, equipped with 88,500 solar panels. The second contract involves constructing a nearly 90-MW solar farm in the Murcia region. Specific details about the projects and their clients were not disclosed.
With these contracts, OHLA has secured four solar photovoltaic projects in Spain this year, totaling nearly EUR 175 million in contracts.
The company's portfolio encompasses approximately 35 renewable energy projects across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, amounting to more than 2,600 MW of installed capacity.
