Nordex has clinched a significant 75 megawatt (MW) repowering project in Lower Saxony, securing a contract to supply 11 N163/6.X turbines to the Badbergen-Dinklage wind farm.
Scheduled for completion in the second half of 2025, the project marks a crucial step in upgrading Germany's renewable energy infrastructure.

The initiative involves replacing 17 outdated Sudwind S70 turbines, originally installed 22 years ago, with Nordex's advanced 6.8MW turbines. These new units, boasting a hub height of 164 meters, promise significantly higher annual yields and enhanced efficiency compared to their predecessors.
Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Central at Nordex, expressed enthusiasm about the project's impact: “The new 6.8MW turbines are very efficient and offer a much higher annual yield than the old turbines. We are proud that we can make an important contribution to the energy transition with this repowering project, and especially that we can once again install turbines for the same operating group at this location after more than 20 years.”

The project planning involved collaboration between EFI Wind from Mulheim an der Ruhr, Alpha Wind from Osnabrück, and Energy-Farming based in Bad Essen, which will oversee the commercial and technical operation of the wind farm.
This repowering effort is part of Nordex's broader strategy in Germany, encompassing recent turbine orders totaling 172MW.
