Planted Solar Emerges from Stealth Mode with $20 Million Funding, Partners with Cultivate Power

Planted , a company specializing in rapid solar deployment technology, has unveiled itself from stealth mode with the conclusion of a $20 million round and an 11-MW partnership alongside US distributed solar and storage developer .

Headquartered in Oakland, , Planted Solar utilizes advanced development software and construction robots to design and construct flexible, all-terrain, and high-density solar power plants.

The company has initiated a collaboration with Cultivate Power to implement 11 MW of community solar projects in the Chicago area. According to a press release, this partnership aims to “minimize project footprint, unlock previously inaccessible financial value, and streamline construction complexities.”

Regarding the company's strategic goals, a spokesperson for Planted Solar stated: “Our innovative approach to solar deployment is set to revolutionize the industry by enhancing efficiency and sustainability.”

In addition to the partnership announcement, Planted Solar confirmed the successful closure of a Series A funding round, bolstered by investments from Breakthrough Energy Ventures (BEV) and Khosla Ventures. This funding, combined with a recent $1.6 million award from the Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO), will facilitate the company's commercial launch and scale-up of its solar deployment solutions.
