Ridge Clean Energy Receives Approval for 39-MW Solar Park with Storage Capacity in Yorkshire

has secured planning approval from the East Riding of Council for the construction of a 39-MW park with storage capacity in Yorkshire, Northern . The project, known as Three Oaks Renewable Energy Park, marks a significant step in the company's renewable energy portfolio.

Situated on privately owned arable farmland between Thornholme and Haisthorpe, the solar park is poised to become a substantial energy contributor to the region. Once operational, it is expected to supply electricity to more than 8,600 local homes annually. Additionally, the integration of a battery system (BESS) with a capacity of up to 78 MWh will enhance the park's efficiency and reliability.

As part of its commitment to community engagement, Ridge Clean Energy has earmarked a community benefit fund of GBP 20,000 per year throughout the 40-year lifespan of the solar park. The developer has also undertaken measures to enhance local biodiversity, including the planting of trees, hedgerows, and wildflower meadows.

The Three Oaks Renewable Energy Park represents just one component of Ridge Clean Energy's broader strategy to develop renewable energy solutions. With a portfolio comprising 10 renewable energy park schemes, the company is actively pursuing advancements in onshore wind, solar PV, and battery storage technologies.
