CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering has reached a significant milestone in the development of Taiwan's Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm with the successful installation of the first offshore substation (OSS) topside.
This achievement underscores a crucial advancement for CDWE and GreenJade, following the vessel's successful completion of various installation tasks, including multiple jacket installations and pin pile installation.
Measuring 52 meters in length, 38 meters in width, and 32 meters in height, and weighing over 2800 tonnes, the OSS topside now rests atop a four-legged steel jacket foundation, which was installed just a week prior.
Located approximately 50 kilometers off the coast of Changhua County in Taiwan, the Hai Long site serves as the backdrop for this ambitious renewable energy project.
The forthcoming Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm is poised to feature 73 Siemens Gamesa turbines with a capacity of 14MW each, all installed on jacket foundations, representing a substantial leap forward in Taiwan's renewable energy landscape.
