The offshore wind project, a joint venture between and Infrastructure, has achieved a significant milestone with the commencement of power production from its first turbine.

Installed on April 23rd in the construction zone approximately 32 kilometers off the coast of , , the 11MW turbine marks the inauguration of power generation at the site. Utilizing Cadeler's state-of-the-art wind farm installation vessel, Wind Osprey, the installation signals progress in Germany's renewable energy ambitions.

The turbine, a Siemens Gamesa SG 11.0-200 DD model, boasts a remarkable rotor diameter of 200 meters, making it the largest turbine in the German North Sea, according to Orsted. Over the coming weeks, an additional 22 turbines are slated for installation and commissioning, further advancing the project's capacity.

Jörg Kubitza, Managing Director for Orsted in Germany, emphasized the significance of the milestone, stating, “With first power from Gode Wind 3, we are further driving forward the energy transformation in Germany.” He highlighted the collaborative effort involving international suppliers and partners, underscoring the project's role in advancing the European clean energy transition.

Martin Gerhardt, Managing Director for Siemens Gamesa in Germany, echoed Kubitza's sentiments, expressing pride in contributing to clean energy production while generating local value and employment opportunities.

Jordi Francesch, Managing Director of Renewable Energy Investments at Nuveen Infrastructure, hailed the installation of the first turbine as a pivotal moment for Gode Wind 3 and the broader clean energy transition. He emphasized Nuveen Infrastructure's commitment to innovative investment decisions that deliver long-term value to society, the environment, and investors.
