Renewables Connections, a player in the UK's renewable energy landscape, has recently welcomed Philip Hale as its inaugural Chief Operations Officer (COO). The appointment comes at a pivotal juncture for the company, which has experienced remarkable growth since its establishment in 2020, securing consents for over 0.5GW of solar and battery projects.
Hale brings a wealth of experience in managing renewable energy ventures across diverse geographical regions, including Europe, the Middle East, Australasia, and the UK. His most recent tenure with international infrastructure specialist Aurecon in New Zealand underscores his global perspective and expertise in the field.
Michael Hughes, Managing Director of Renewable Connections and Director of parent company Armstrong Capital Management, emphasized the strategic significance of Hale's appointment, stating, “The creation of the new COO role, and Philip's appointment, underline our strong commitment to the business's continued growth.”
He added, “In the last few years, our team have achieved unparalleled success, gaining a 100% consent rate for solar, battery, and hydrogen renewable energy projects across the UK, alongside launching our commercial division PowerGreen. Philip will play an integral role in helping us to continue this success.”

In addition to Hale's appointment, Renewables Connections has expanded its team by appointing David Reid as Land Acquisition Manager for its Scottish division. Reid will spearhead all landowner engagement activities in Scotland, serving as the primary contact for landowners or farmers interested in hosting renewable energy projects on their land.
