Boviet Solar Chooses Greenville, North Carolina for New Manufacturing Facility

Vietnamese photovoltaics specialist Technology Co Ltd has announced its selection of Greenville, , as the site for its inaugural solar panels and cells manufacturing facility in , marking a significant investment totaling USD 294 million (EUR 274.4m).

In a statement released on Friday, the company outlined its phased approach to establishing the facility, with plans to commence mass production in the first quarter of 2025.

The initial phase will involve repurposing an existing building to house the factory, with a target annual production capacity of 2 GW. This facility will focus on manufacturing the company's cutting-edge TOPCon N-Type cell technology, alongside monofacial and bifacial solar panels catering to residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects.

Subsequently, the second phase will entail the construction of a sprawling facility spanning 500,000 to 600,000 square feet (46,451 sq m-55,742 sq m) on a 34-acre (13.8 ha) site, facilitating the production of an additional 2 GW of PV cells annually.

The Greenville facility represents a pivotal milestone for Boviet Solar, serving as its maiden manufacturing site in the United States and the second globally, following the establishment of cell and modules production in its native . The company anticipates the creation of approximately 908 skilled jobs with the commencement of operations at the new site.
